RYA youth stage 4 gives students the change to refine their independent sailing. Over two day course, you will sail double-handed boats, become independent in rigging, launching, and recovery. Students will further improve their Stage 3 manoeuvres including coming alongside, picking up a mooring and man-over-board procedures.
Students will be taught more advanced sailing theory to give them better fluency both on and off the water. Theory will be focused on IRPCS, Weather and Tides and IALA buoyage

RYA Stage 4 DINGHY SAILING
Course pre requisites Stage 4
- 8-14 years (flexible with age)
- Must be able to swim.
- Stage 3 sailing ability
What to bring
- Bring a water bottle, hot drinks provided.
- Suitable footwear- old trainers, wetsuits boots/shoes (no flipflops or crocs)
- Wetsuit and buoyancy aid if you have, or we can provide.
- Windproof jacket and trousers.(we can provide wind jackets)
- Warm base layers to change into.
