Our sailing club for Home Educated children is the perfect place for 8-16 year olds to learn new skills, make new friends, and enjoy the thrill of sailing. (Age is flexible/Open to Non Home Ed also - Please email us)
Every Tuesday, we'll be setting sail for a series of exciting sessions that will help your child grow in skills and confidence!

Time: 9:30am-1pm
RYA Stage 1:
To achieve RYA Stage 1, participants must attend 5 consecutive Tuesday sessions.
RYA Stage 1 course content summary:
- Launching and recovery
- Parts of the boat
- Basic sailing
- Improve basic sailing skills
- Ropework
- Collision avoidance and turning
RYA Stage 1&2:
To achieve RYA Stage 1&2, participants must have completed Stage 1, and then attend a further 5 consecutive Tuesday sessions (10 total).
RYA Stage 2 course content summary:
- Basic sailing, practicing steering in all directions
- Learning parts of the boat
- Rigging boats.
- Hoisting sails, setting sails and trimming
- Introducing all points of Sail
- Tacking and Gybing
- Sailing around a course
- Ropework
- Collision avoidance and turning
Eligibility:
Our Home Education sessions are currently open to 8-16 year olds (Flexible). We are also working on introducing parent/child sessions for younger children in the future. It is suitable for beginners with little to no prior experience. Participants must be able to swim.
Payment Information:
You may either pay in full or pay a 50% deposit (Half on booking, Half on week 2 of sessions), Please be aware all payments are non-refundable, unless we are required to cancel due to weather conditions.

- Suitable shoes/trainers/wetsuit boots
- Swimming costume/swimming trunks
- Lunch and snacks (there are no nearby shops)
- A reusable water bottle
- Suntan lotion
- Towel for a shower after

Parents do not need to be present for this activity. (Click here for our Child Welfare policy.) Our Senior Child welfare officer can be contacted if you have anything you wish to discuss about your child, that you feel we should know.
We ask that all parents download the Parental Consent Form and send back to us (scan or email a photo). We can email a word doc if needed.
