Piddinghoe lake or 'pond' as it is sometimes referred to, started life as a quarry in the late 1800's. By the mid 1950's excavation had stopped and the pit had become a lake. Not long after, it was acquired by the Newhaven & Seaford Sailing Club who still own it today. Piddinghoe lake is a protected, privately owned, beauty spot in a secluded area.
At Piddinghoe we have secure changing rooms, showers, toilets, kitchen facilities, tuition classroom as well as free parking, BBQ facilities and comfortable outdoor seating and picnic area.
Brighton Watersports activities at the lake range from group SUP hire, open and closed kayak hire, canoe hire and jumbo-sized SUP's. We also offer qualified instruction and private tuition as well as activities for educational groups, families and corporate events. Please note that all activities at the lake must be pre-booked.
