RYA Youth Stage 1 Sailing course serves as an introduction to the world of sailing. Based at our sailing centre in Piddinghoe, 10 mins from Brighton. It is suitable for beginners with little to no prior experience. RYA Youth Stage 1, is 2 days of sailing (16 hrs).
RYA stage 1 takes your child to a confident level of sailing, ready for stage 2. Our lake is safe and secure, it has wind but without the waves that are often over over whelming for kids when learning.

Parents do not need to stay, you can leave your children if you prefer. We have tight child safeguarding policies.

RYA Stage 1 DINGHY SAILING
Course pre requisites Stage 1
- Age 8-14yrs (flexible with age)
- Must be able to swim.
What to bring
- Bring a water bottle. Hot drinks provided.
- Suitable footwear- old trainers, wetsuits boots/shoes (no flipflops or crocs)
- Wetsuit and buoyancy aid if you have, or we can provide.
- Windproof jacket and trousers. (windproof jacket can be provided)
- Warm base layers to change into.
